BFI Places

The BFI Places Fund recognises and invests National Lottery funding in areas that do not already have a BFI funded Skills Cluster, where there is evidence of a growing screen production industry and skills gaps and/or shortages in the local workforce. Thanks to these funds, Screen Cornwall has a range of schemes for new entrants and experienced crew.

Production Ready Pathways

This programme directly addresses regional skills gaps and helps participants navigate the industry's professional landscape.
Production Ready Pathways is designed to support new entrants as they begin their careers within the Cornish film and TV industry.

We provide a strong foundation through industry skills training, mentorship, professional networking, and ongoing career guidance. Our focused training and support allows all participants to be production ready. Through our ongoing production relationships within the film office, we look to match participants with funded placements and opportunities within the local sector.

Step-Up Placements

Step-Up Placement scheme is a mentored program built for early-career professionals with established credits who are ready to take the next step up. Participants gain an extended, on-the-job placement on a live production and are matched with a dedicated mentor to fill their knowledge gaps. This one-on-one support guides them through new responsibilities, providing the expertise and confidence they need to successfully step up into their next career role.
